Hi, welcome to Danielle Lawry Design

I’m Danielle Lawry—a graduate of Illinois State University where I received my Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication. During my time at Illinois State I worked as a graphic designer for several departments on campus. I served as the president of C.O.M.M. Club, and was a teaching assistant for “Magazine Publication and Design”. Through these experiences I had the chance to meet brilliant people, great mentors, and good friends. I became a well-rounded individual who gained many skills that I would not have learned in the classroom alone.

Today, I’m working as a graphic designer for University Marketing at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. As part of the University Marketing team, I’ve had the opportunity to work on some remarkable projects, including the brand redesign for UW–Madison. As part of the project team, I had major responsibilities redesigning and updating logo elements, fonts, and other visual identity components used campuswide. I also take great pride in my role overseeing the design and layout for half of each issue of the university’s alumni magazine, On Wisconsin. As the magazine is a collaborative effort between University Marketing, University Communications, and WFAA, I have been able to partner with superb artists, editors, photographers, and writers from across campus and beyond to produce this award-winning publication that reaches more than 400,000 alumni.

Additionally, my passion for design has allowed me to establish myself as a leader in campus and community organizations. I have served on the board of directors of Design Madison for more than three years and am currently Vice President. I also lead the Campus Designers group at UW–Madison. The group was established to bring designers from a decentralized campus together to network and discuss the proper use of the brand.

When I’m not designing, I enjoy cooking, traveling, and reading. I have a passion for technology, and inspiring design work. I also enjoy being active outdoors, which is easy to do in this beautiful state.
